Nikon D90 Review
Nikon D90 review
The Nikon name is synonymous with high-quality photography equipment, which is frequently used by some of the world’s top photographer. Though many of Nikon’s products can be costly, they also do an outstanding job of making their trademark quality affordable. They’re known for pairing advanced features with low prices, and the Nikon D90 is a prime example of that philosophy.
The Nikon D90 is designed for professionals on an amateur’s budget – or an amateur who wants to go pro. It’s loaded with features that deliver gorgeous shots, many of which have been cribbed from Nikon’s flagship pro camera (the Nikon D300). The D90 features a 12.3 megapixel image sensor, high-end white balance detection, and a split-second shutter speed ideal for capturing precise moments. All of these features match those in the D300; the only difference is that the D300 is more than double the price of the Nikon D90.

There are some other high-end goodies that come standard with the Nikon D90, such as a sensor cleaner that removes dust from your lens automatically – eliminating dark spots and shadows on your images. An 11-point autofocus system offers facial recognition, and makes it easier to refocus on your subject (even if they’re on the move). This is a great feature for snapping photos on vacation, active outings or sporting events, and will help make sure the memories you’re trying to capture actually make it into the picture.
As if taking crisp, beautiful photos wasn’t enough, the Nikon D90 also shoots movies. The Nikon D90 is the first camera in its series to feature this capability, and it’s quickly become an unexpected favorite feature among users. There are 3 different resolution settings, up to 720p HD filming. The video capture can be further customized using the wide range of interchangeable lenses that fit the Nikon D90.
For all its features, the Nikon D90 is also surprisingly easy to use. The bells and whistles come effortlessly, making your photos look professional even if you can barely point and shoot. Add ease of use to its features and low price, and we’re calling the Nikon D90 a winner.
The Nikon D90 has a competitive retail price any way you slice it, but Amazon customers seem to get the best deal. Buying the Nikon D90 on Amazon entitles customers to a 23% discount, for a total price of $919. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on the Nikon D90, so who knows how long it’ll last.
